The Project:
When a client needs a quick solution, they come to One Source VMS. Montblanc did just that, relying on One Source VMS to take on an extensive display project to be installed in the storefront windows of Bloomingdales’ 3rd Avenue location.

The Challenge: to create and execute a concept, which would allow a small product to appear larger-than-life in the ten enormous display windows. The Solution: a concept which would transform each of the windows into a Shadow Box.

The walls of each display were fashioned with mirrored black vinyl and mirrored black plexi glass covered the floor. A combination of metallic c-prints, metal cad cut vinyls, and cascade silver curtains created dynamic inside the space, while outside frosted etch mark vinyl closed in the viewing area. Finally, frosted plexi glass shelves were constructed to display Montblanc’s collection. By using different metal laminates, adhesive vinyls, plexi glass and graphics, One Source VMS was able to make Montblanc’s exclusive line of jewelry become the star of the show. “Liquid Metal”, a full installation and production effort, aimed at capturing and mirroring the bold gestures of Montblanc’s line of jewelry. Viewing the windows after installation Montblanc CEO could say one word: Phenomenal.

One Source VMS produced a metamorphic display for Fendi this fall. By mounting magnetic substrate to custom cut, bean-shaped medium-density fibreboard (MDF), One Source VMS was able to create a window landscape containing threefold motion artwork, saving the client the need to rebuild or re-install the consecutive correlating pieces.

The Project:
When Fendi’s team came to One Source VMS, they needed to make the concept for their window display in Italy appropriate for all their United States boutiques. Like Fendi’s brand, the display needed to be baroque at soul, and this quality needed to be translated into harmonious curved lines with a fluid sense of space.

The Challenge: Producing back wall and centerpiece artwork, which would transform without having to rebuild the entire exhibit separately each time. The Solution: Careful Design. Elegance. And of course, Magnets.

Each of the three pieces at the heart of the exhibit were hand painted to create the distinct “rustic” look Fendi desired. One Source VMS then mounted a magnetic substrate to the front of the pieces so that each change simply required exchanging the magnetic face. Each of the layers was designed to be easily removable and hard to damage so as to make the transition of them from September to December as smooth as the overall aesthetic of the combined piece.

Each layer of the showcase not only used different artwork, but was also made out of a different material. Cad-cut vinyl changed to gold-mirrored plexiglass which then changed into mounted C-prints. All of this stood on a custom built platform, which was hand-painted to convey the careful work and craftsmanship that is an integral part of the Fendi style. At first the surrounding walls revealed pastoral graphics printed on ultraboard; then transitioned into gold laminated plexiglass and the finale exposed C-print graphics. From plexiglass cubes to floor platforms, One Source VMS custom manufactured it all.

The new means offered enhanced the elegance, practicality, innovation and style - all part of Fendi’s foundation - all integral to the success of a display, in general. From Italy to the United States, the members of the Fendi team were very pleased.

On Thursday November 6th, 2008 - OS39’s Executive Creative Director, Rahul Siddharth, gladly attended the “Diamonds Make a Difference - An Evening with Mariano Rivera” charity event. The event was hosted by Michael C Fina: a proud client of One Source VMS . Above, the renowned Yankee’s pitcher can be seen cheerfully joining Mr. Siddharth for a photograph - a moment capturing the personal and ambitious dedication One Source VMS maintains towards their clients and charitable causes.

One Source VMS made the holiday graphics for Michael C Fina and our installers set them up yesterday- November 5, 2008- in the New York City storefront windows. An illustrator created their holiday catalog graphics and they wanted to transfer the same drawings to their windows. One Source VMS made this possible. At the onset, our Display department did technical drawings. By separating the illustrations into three layers, OSVMS was able to take a 2D drawling and make it 3D. The window display was made out of zund cut illustration board all set in a base made of white MDF. Cad cut Snowflakes were placed onto the outside of windows to give the display even more depth. Lastly, LED lighting was strung through each of the four display windows, creating mood and atmosphere. One Source VMS took the concept and ran with it; moreover, the seeming impossibility of making illustration into display was executed successfully by the smooth collaboration of our respective Divisions.

Corrie Clark comes to One Source with three years of sales experience within the Interior Design and Architectural field.  Previously, Corrie spent two years within Customer Service in the Fashion Industry.  Corrie’s well rounded background should ensure her success out in the OSVMS San Francisco headquarters as an Account Executive.

Ainsley comes to One Source with two years of sales experience within the Mortgage Industry.  Prior to the Mortgage Industry, Ainsley spent one year as a Marketing Communications Coordinator for Kellwood Company.  A combination of sales and marketing experience will provide her with the tools to succeed as an Account Executive in our New York office.
